Updated 04/28/18: This board was originally made about 1916, after John Heap took a trip from Altoona, PA to visit the Kinsey family in Reading, PA. The two families had shared a house together in Reading. The game is based on the early Reading, PA design of monopoly. It was brought to Philadelphia in 1917, and likely played with schoolmates of John's son Roy while he attended South Philadephia High during the 1917-1918 school year.
